Journaling...

 Journaling....

Keeping a journal helps me to get clarity on what's happening in my life and my feeling about it all.  It's also helping me to be intentional with how I spend my time.

I created a template that I hope to eventually make the sheets available to others.  Until then, here is what I did:  I created space to journal about gratitude, vision, and intentions on one page.  On the other page, I journal about things done, thoughts, self-care, and power questions (how am I feeling, what have I given, what have I learned, what will I do differently, how has today added to the quality of my life0.  So far, I have 5 entries! Yay!  After doing this a few times, I realized how much this format is shaping my thoughts and intentions everyday.  I find myself thinking, "what are my intentions? and "what did I learn?  By capturing my "things done" it's helping me to celebrate more and keep perspective about the reality of my "to do list".  Sometimes, its just impossible to do "everything" on the "to do list', but knowing some key parts the list were completed along with some other necessary steps that I missed, is helping me to relax more and celebrate whatever I did do.  The "the thoughts" section is helping me to stay mindful of my thinking too.  So far so good with this format.  It's still evolving. I have a few more ideas on items to add.   I'll really try to make these journal sheets available for others soon.

Have a Super FitTastic and AWESOME day!

Making a Connection: Create things that benefit others and don't be afraid to share it.

Ok. Yesterday was New Years Day.  As the day's events settled down, we assembled as a family to do a Bible Study session together.  We usually use this children's and young people Bible study devotion book (shown below).

When my oldest son turned to the page for January 1st, he was delighted to see the Bible verse was Genesis 1:1-2, He quickly pointed out that it was first book of the Bible, the first chapter, and the first verse that we were about to read on the first day of the new year.  As we began to read it, the word 'CREATE" popped out for me.  I was just inspired to "CREATE" a few days ago when I met my new friend (see my first blog post).  Now, I'm seeing this same word "CREATE" from the Bible.

As my family and I discussed the verses and how we could apply them to our lives, my oldest son's friend (who's visiting with us this holiday season) said that whatever we create it should be something that benefits others.  Spot on.  My youngest son was a bit late joining us.  When he joined, he said the something about whatever we create should benefit others.  I totally agreed with them.  I was just sharing the same message the night before as we gathered for a New Year's Eve talk.

At the time when we gathered for the New Year's Eve talk, I had just created something (this blog), but I hadn't shared it because it wasn't polished and I didn't know if I would really continue.  So, I guess I was also a bit afraid to publish (share it) because of potential judgement.

During my personal reading time, I'm reading the book, THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI.  In this book, the author, Robin Sharma, talks about doing things we fear and identifying the things holding us back then facing them head on.  He also made a statement that said, "when you conquer your fears, you conquer your life."  Oh, I really LOVED THIS!

My takeaway from all is this is to CREATE things that benefit others and don't be afraid to share it.

The journey continues.....

I hope tis encourages you too!

Have a Super Awesome FitTastic Day!
